O Produtor, tasting note published in August 15th 2021

This is incredible on the nose, offering warm stones, blackcurrants, iodine and damp earth. Full-bodied with a tight central palate, then opens up with a weightless tannin structure that spreads across the palate. Fully integrated into the palate. This is a magic carpet wine. Really incredible. One of the landmarks of the vintage. Drinkable now and please try a bottle, but it's one for the cellar.

Dominus

At Dominus Estate, the 2018 season started late and harvest from 1-15 October was 12 days later than our historical average. Seasonal rainfall was light (22″ versus 31″ annual average) and the early summer remained consistently warm. Late summer temperatures dipped below normals with morning fog in August and September. Fruit ripened slowly in the absence of heat spikes and harvest began with Cabernet Franc on 1 October. A storm system that brought 1.2″ of rain on 2 and 3 October interrupted the harvest. Hot and very dry weather returned on October 5 and harvest continued with Cabernet Sauvignon on October 9, followed by Petit Verdot. We harvested 94% of our fruit between 9th and 15th October. The grapes were full and ripe and the resulting wines are deep, complex and well articulated.
