This wine is crafted from a blend of carefully selected grape varieties, designed to deliver a unique, exclusive, and truly captivating experience.

Vinho da Água (Water Wine) is a submerged wine that takes advantage of the unique conditions of the underwater environment — constant temperature, absence of light, high pressure, and gentle water movement — to influence and refine its maturation in an extraordinary way.

Aging
Its complexity and persistence are achieved through an initial aging process in French oak barrels. Subsequently, the wine is bottled and submerged in the serene waters of Alqueva, resting at a depth of 30 meters for 8 months to reach its full potential.

Ervideira

The estates of Monte da Ribeira and Herdadinha both belong to the Leal da Costa family, direct descendants of the Count of Ervideira, a successful farmer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. With 160 hectares divided between two estates, one in Vidigueira (110 ha) and the other in Reguengos de Monsaraz (50 ha), Ervideira´s company is run by Maria Isabel Leal da Costa, the family’s matriarch, together with the support of her six children, including Duarte Leal da Costa, the executive director. Nelson Rolo is the head winemaker.
