O Produtor, tasting note published in May 23rd 2017

The 2017 Conciso red wine presents a more intense ruby color than usual.
The aroma is fresh but a note of riper fruit stands out. In the mouth it is concentrated keeping the fresh fruit and light tannins, with a good acidity, where the balance and harmony are evident.
The finish is long, deep and a pleasure to drink!

VINIFICATION

The 2017 viticultural year was marked by a dry winter, with rainfall levels well below the average of the last 30 years. This was followed by a hot and dry spring, with heat waves that lasted until the beginning of summer. With the rise in average temperatures and the absence of precipitation, the grapevine showed an advance in phenology of about 15 days, from budbreak to budbreak.

This situation continued during the summer, which led to an early start to the harvest, being particularly intense and of short duration.

The vinification took place in the lagar, maintaining a prolonged maceration, practically without extraction and using 20% of the stalk.

We obtained an elegant wine which, after its alcoholic fermentation process, remained for about 20 months in ageing in old 2,500 litre barrels and casks at Quinta da Lomba.

It was then bottled without any filtration.
