A juicy and attractive red, with notes of plums and berries, complemented by hazelnuts and chocolate. Medium-bodied, creamy tannins, and a delicious finish. Extremely well done.

Château Teyssier

Château Teyssier is one of the best-selling Saint-Émilion Grand Crus, produced to high-quality standards. This wine uses the same equipment and methods applied to our top-end Single Vineyard wines. A true “Sunday claret” – but for every Sunday!

Viticulture: This wine comes from a blend of several plots located on the southwest plain of the Saint-Émilion appellation, acquired since 1994. This terroir, mainly composed of sandy, gravelly soils, imparts an accessible and elegant personality to the wine.

Winemaking: Made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the vines are pruned using the double guyot system. Secondary shoots are removed, and green harvesting is carried out to ensure low yield and higher concentration. The grapes are handpicked into small boxes and undergo a rigorous sorting, berry by berry, after destemming. They are transported on conveyors, preserving their integrity, and fermented in stainless steel tanks after cold maceration. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, 25% of which are new.

Something unusual: Château Teyssier is also a home. It’s common to find dogs, cats, and children on the property, alongside busy winemakers. We produce about 15,000 cases of this wine, which, thanks to its fair pricing, can be found in prestigious places such as first and business-class airline cabins, Wimbledon, backstage at the greatest rock & roll band, and on the table of one of the leading Formula 1 teams.

JCP Maltus Domaines & Châteaux

In the heart of Saint-Émilion, where tradition echoes through medieval streets and century-old vineyards shape the horizon, a story of audacity and passion was born. It was here, during the height of the “garage wine” movement in the 1990s, that Jonathan Maltus, an Englishman with African roots, found his home. Inspired by a desire to challenge Bordeaux’s classic norms, he brought with him a simple yet powerful philosophy: do things differently and do things better. For him, the true value of a bottle of wine lies in its taste, not in the grandeur of its label.

At the historic Château Teyssier, Jonathan launched a true revolution. He transformed this iconic estate into a laboratory of innovation while preserving the authenticity that makes Saint-Émilion a global benchmark. Fifteen years later, Jonathan became the first Englishman to achieve the coveted 100 Parker points and was honored by the Queen with an Order of the British Empire, a rare and extraordinary recognition in the world of wine.

With the opening of Le Dôme’s new winery, Jonathan cemented his legacy, blending tradition and modernity in a space that reflects the essence of his vision. In 2008, he crossed the Atlantic and found a new stage for innovation in Napa Valley, California. There, he fused the elegance of Bordeaux’s savoir-faire with the intensity of New World terroirs, crafting wines that celebrate the best of both traditions. This gave rise to the World’s End brand.

The JCP Maltus Domaines & Châteaux team is a rarity in the Bordeaux wine world, managing both the production and commercialization of its wines. In 2015, it solidified a strong position in the en primeur market, and in 2018, it brought an even more ambitious vision to life, creating a company that combines financial strength with an innovative spirit. Today, it is not just a name in the world of wine; it is a testament to the power of challenging conventions and the passion for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.
