Robert Parker, tasting note published in June 23rd 2022

The 2019 Château Palmer is a rich, dramatic wine that rises from the glass with aromas of cherries, blackberries and berry liqueur intermixed with notions of violets, rose petals and sweet spices. Full-bodied, layered and seamless, it is powerful and immensely concentrated, with an enveloping core of lively fruit that largely hides the wine's ripe, powdery structuring tannins. Concluding with a long, penetrating finish, it is a brilliant interpretation of the contemporary Palmer style of Thomas Duroux and his team.

Château Palmer

We started harvesting the Merlot on 19 September, amidst weather conditions close to those of summer. The berries were
concentrated, aromatic and loaded with sugar. Harvest continued and we entered autumn under a steady, fine rain that lowered the potential alcohol of the Cabernet Sauvignon. By 11 October, the harvest was complete. In the vat room, the Merlot grapes shone in their exuberance. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot would display remarkable finesse. Today, both Alter Ego and Château Palmer express a purity and aromatic clarity rarely seen in a bountiful vintage. These wines do not lie; they are remarkably true to the terroir of Château Palmer.

Château Palmer

The nature of Château Palmer. In the heart of Margaux,
66 hectares of gravel and pasture looking out over the Gironde.
Between this soil, rich in centuries of history, and its
microclimate, the vines are fixed in turn by the
the men and women of the estate.
A terroir, three varieties of grapes: the horizon of Château Palmer.
