O Produtor, tasting note published in September 30th 2022

Complexity, very concentrated aroma, with black forest fruits, liquorice notes, spices, violets, bergamot, rock-rose ... in balance with very elegant French oak notes. Long and enveloping, you can feel the fruit at the end of the mouth, firm tannins very ripe and smooth, fresh and very elegant, anticipating an excellent bottle ageing.

Castello D’Alba

Coming from vineyards in the Douro Superior, planted on terraces with predominant southern exposure. We look for a grape selection that allows us to obtain aromatic and fresh wines, with a gastronomic character that represents well the “”terroir”” of the Upper Douro, with its notes of rock-rose and black fruits and very elegant spices.

100% manual harvest, in vats with an average capacity of 800 Kg. Destemming and crushing; Maceration for 48 hours; alcoholic fermentation for a minimum of 15 days.

Ageing for 18 months in French oak barrels, 2/3 new, 1/3 of second wine.

Rui Roboredo Madeira Vinhos

In one of the most remote areas of the Iberian Peninsula, on the border between the Douro Superior and Beira Alta regions, it was among family that its passion grew for the aromas and smells of this land that shapes our character.
After coming into contact with many cultures of living and making wine, in various parts of the globe, Rui Madeira returned to the great Douro valley convinced that they have the potential to make the best wines in the world.
Out of respect for nature, due to the way we cultivate their vineyards and wines reflect his experiences, which smell and taste of land, of schist, damp granite, rock rose, wild flowers and fruit.
It is in the winery that he makes wines with the character of our ‘terroir’, expressed through native grape varieties, which instil with a style of their own and an international profile.
