Casa d'Arrochella
This red wine comes from the Douro Superior sub-region, at Quinta do Cerval, made from a selection of the best grapes from the Vinha Velha parcels, planted on schistous soil at an altitude of 125 to 250 meters.
Located in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, Quinta do Cerval currently has around 50 hectares of selected vineyards, irrigated directly from the Douro River and organized into plots. The dominant grape variety is Touriga Nacional, complemented by parcels of Sousão, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, and Alicante Bouschet. The production focuses on blended wines with a fine, elegant, and fresh profile, with great aging potential in the bottle. These wines are part of the Grandes Quintas, Casa d’Arrochella Reserva ranges and, in exceptional years, the premium Cerval wine.
Vinification: Manual harvest in 20 kg boxes, 100% destemmed, fermentation in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels.
Aging: 18 months in French oak barrels.
How to Serve: Decant for 15 minutes before serving, at around 16-17°C. This wine has not been fined and may show a slight natural deposit (coloring matter and salts).
