O Produtor, tasting note published in November 30th 2017

Red garnet color, with depth and concentration. The nose suggests chocolate notes, black fruit enveloped in suggestive spicy and floral notes, on a delicately balsamic and mineral background. In the mouth, it is a complex but very elegant wine, highlighting the harmony between black fruit and the wood aging, with spicy and balsamic hints, the finish is firm, dry, and fresh, ending with great persistence.

Casa d'Arrochella

In the sub-region of Douro Superior, at Quinta do Cerval, this red wine is born from the selection of the best grapes from the plots of Old Vine, planted in schist soil at an altitude of 125-250 meters.

Vinification: September 2014, manual harvest in 20 kg boxes, 100% destemming, fermentation in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature at 24/26ºC for 9 days. Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels.

Aging: 18 months in French oak barrels.

Bottled in November 2017.

How to serve: Decant 15 minutes before serving to let the wine breathe, and serve at around 16-17ºC. This wine has not been fined, so it may present a slight natural sediment (coloring matter and salts).
