O Produtor, tasting note published in May 28th 2021
Open in colour, frank aroma of ripe red fruit but without interference, very pure, expressive and very attractive Elegant in the mouth, polished and with cooperating tannins, a very pleasant red to consume right now
From a single vineyard at the age of 80 this wine is born, so it is through it that we intend to take over the unique terroir of that plot. The old vine is a set of vines of about 24 different varieties (including some white varieties, as was absolutely normal at the time) that, over the course of almost a century, have naturally adapted to that parcel, in perfect harmony.
The harvest is manual and done in one single time, and the entire grape blend is fermented in traditional cement vats.
Fruit of the natural balance given by the vine, the fermentation takes place spontaneously, without any need to correct the must. We thus assume our terroir – with a minimalist wine in our cellar. 18 months of ageing in oak casks.
Limited to existing stock. In the case of the wine you have purchased remaining out of stock, we will contact you to propose a different wine, or to return the amount paid.

Casa da Passarella
Located in Lagarinhos, in the sub-region of Serra da Estrela, at an altitude of 600 to 800m the Casa da Passarella was founded in 1892, even before the demarcation of the Dão region (1908). With its name back in the mouths of the world, it will never be known if it was the climate, if it was the land. If it was the talent of the people who passed through here and their passionate stories and personalities. Or if it was simply luck.
One thing is certain: silent and imposing, the old mountain has seen from above the birth of great wines in this piece of land of the Dão. Great wines were born from this house and these vineyards, before they were abandoned and later valued by the current owner, Ricardo Cabral. The renovated Casa da Passarella , presents wines with rigor and with, not less delicious, labels.
