O Produtor, tasting note published in May 28th 2018

A lot of character and claw in this red. Sober fruit, some phenolic maceration note, lightly smoked with a touch of china ink. In the mouth good and vigorous tannins give the motto to a spicy, wide and incisive tasting that clings tastefully to the mouth.

Casa da Passarella

Grafting is born from the heterogeneity of our encepamento. Every year is different in the soil and climatic conditions. From this differentiation we decided to create a wine based on the best behaviour of the grape variety in the vintage year. Based on this philosophy, we feel the freedom to choose each year the best reflected grape variety. We open this reference with Alfrocheiro
The fermentation took place in a cement vat with spontaneous fermentation. Aged for 12 months in barrels and 18 months in bottle. The entire stabilization process resulted from minimalist and natural processes.
Limited to existing stock. In the case of the wine you have purchased remaining out of stock, we will contact you to propose a different wine, or to return the amount paid.

Casa da Passarella

Located in Lagarinhos, in the sub-region of Serra da Estrela, at an altitude of 600 to 800m the Casa da Passarella was founded in 1892, even before the demarcation of the Dão region (1908). With its name back in the mouths of the world, it will never be known if it was the climate, if it was the land. If it was the talent of the people who passed through here and their passionate stories and personalities. Or if it was simply luck.
One thing is certain: silent and imposing, the old mountain has seen from above the birth of great wines in this piece of land of the Dão. Great wines were born from this house and these vineyards, before they were abandoned and later valued by the current owner, Ricardo Cabral. The renovated Casa da Passarella , presents wines with rigor and with, not less delicious, labels.
