Casa Américo
The Casa Américo Reserva Red 2018 is produced from carefully selected grapes of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Alfrocheiro varieties, sourced from vineyards planted on granite soils at an altitude between 400 and 600 meters, influenced by the 2000-meter-high Serra da Estrela mountain, located in the Serra da Estrela sub-region.
Casa Américo Reserva Red 2018 was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Winemaker: Pedro Pereira.
“With a touch of Alfrocheiro in the blend, this wine is rich and spicy, with a structured base. The wine aged for a year in wood, giving it polish and density. Drink from 2024.” – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast
“Touriga Nacional (50%), Tinta Roriz (30%), and Alfrocheiro (20%), aged in barrels. Good aromatic notes of forest berries, beautiful and expressive fruit. Medium-bodied, in a smooth and fresh style, with some tannins adding a boost of grip to the finish. A very consensual red.” – Luís Lopes, Grandes Escolhas Magazine
