O Produtor, tasting note published in September 27th 2023
A wine disconcerting by the intensity and elegance. It has a beautiful ruby color. The aroma is full of personality, with aromas of wild fruits and notes of plum and dark cherry. The palate is firm, supported by a good acidity and soft tannins. Very fresh, with pure fruit flavor.
This wine comes from vineyards with an age of about 85 years, with 5000 feet per hectare, located at 500 m of height and planted in granitic soils with lines of sand. The year 2011 had a very long and balanced maturity. The harvest was held on 26 September. The grapes were vinified respecting all their nature, in stainless steel vats with total maceration of up to 12 days. Malolactic fermentation and aging were made in wooden barrels 2 years for 14 months.

For the Quinta da Pellada come mainly grapes “field blend” from the old vines, but also the Touriga Nacionaland Tinta Roriz, where it discovers the intense fruit and freshness from the farm grapes that give the name to this wine.
