O Produtor, tasting note published in March 27th 2017
Very spicy wine with fresh notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, cherry stone and good presence of dark chocolate. Vigorous in form and structure, with a spicy and prolonged finish, where the smoked and spices of the wood intertwine

Vidigal Wines is a producer of still and liqueur wines, of medium size and family character, located in the area of Leiria in the centre of Portugal. The origins of the company date back to the beginning of the 20th Century, in a farm founded by a Canon of the Church. Over the last century the company met a couple of owners until in the early 90’s the current Director, António Mendes Lopes – took over the management. Since that time Vidigal has known great changes and technological advances that today allow it to produce about 3 million bottles per year. In terms of production, Vidigal Wines has established several partnerships in the wine region of Lisbon which in total represent about 450ha. of vineyards. It also maintains several partnerships in other producing regions of Portugal, in a total of 7 regions: Lisbon, Tejo, Douro, Alentejo, Dão, Beiras and Vinho Verde.
The great majority of Vidigal’s wines, namely those from the Lisbon wine region, are produced very close to the Atlantic Ocean – about 30km – and, as such, suffer great influence from the Atlantic breezes which results in fresh and always very fruity wines.
