Brancaia
Brancaia TRE is a wine full of personality. The name TRE symbolizes its three grape varieties Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as its three Tuscan vineyards, Maremma, Castellina, and Radda – the foundation for this wine. The blend is dominated by Sangiovese, with 70%, but Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon also bring their charm, each at 15%. Harvest began on August 18 and ended on October 1.
This well-structured, medium-bodied wine ages for twelve months before being bottled. Two-thirds of the maturation takes place in French tonneaux, and one-third in concrete tanks.
An elegant cuvée that offers plenty of tasting pleasure now or later and pairs well with any cuisine. “There is no better entry-level wine than this,” says Monica Larner (for Robert Parker) referring to the TRE 2014. And James Suckling states: “Really delicious, really juicy, with wonderful aromas of red fruits.”
Perfect with pasta and rice dishes, roast or sautéed white meat, poultry, roasted or grilled fish. Our favorite: with Vitello Tonnato with fresh capers.
