O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2019

Ruby colour, dense, dark, clean and bright. Intense aroma of red fruits, strawberry jam, dark chocolate and spices. In the mouth it is consistent, solid and with a serious entry, involving our papillae with notes of blackberries, rock-rose and a peppery touch.

Bons Ares

Quinta dos Bons Ares is located in Douro Superior, in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, in a very specific terroir due to its granite soils and altitude, which give the grapes an acidity and aromatic potential unusual in this region. The other particularity of this wine is the blend between the new and the old world, between traditional grape varieties, such as Touriga Nacionaland Touriga Franca and the international Cabernet Sauvignon, granite presses and stainless steel robots. This Casa Ramos Pinto wine is a good example of innovative tradition. A modern classic. The grapes were hand-picked into small boxes and immediately received into the winemaking centre of Quinta dos Bons Ares. Fermentation was 100% in stainless steel vats, between 25 and 28 degrees of temperature followed by a long maceration. After malolactic fermentation, 50% of the wine was aged for 14 months in 2 and 3 year old French oak barrels and casks.
