O Produtor, tasting note published in April 30th 2022

This wine exhibits a very fruity nose with wild berry notes and a discreet floral nuance, showcasing its youth and irreverence. On the palate, it is smooth, broad, and persistent with freshness and very soft tannins.

Beyra

The respect for traditions, people, customs, soils, nature, and the desire to try to make a wine with minimal intervention in the cellar led me to select grapes from old organic vines in the parish of Vermiosa in Beira Interior. These grapes, of various red varieties, aim to represent as closely as possible the blend of varieties that was traditionally made in the vineyards, always taking into account various parameters such as alcohol content, acidity, color, structure, and the smoothness of the wines to be obtained. The grapes come from vines that are not irrigated, once again not altering what was done in the past and allowing the grapes to be as naturally grown.
To avoid interfering with vinification, this wine was fermented in cement tanks without temperature control and with minimal extraction.” – Rui Roboredo Madeira

Origin: Grapes produced using organic farming methods in vineyards planted on the plateau of Beira Interior, at an average altitude of 700 meters, with shale and granite soils. Old vines without irrigation.

Vinification and Ageing: Hand-harvested grapes, total destemming upon reception, and immediate crushing. Fermentation without temperature control using wild yeast, with gentle manual maceration. Ageing in cement tanks until bottling.

Rui Roboredo Madeira Vinhos

In one of the most remote areas of the Iberian Peninsula, on the border between the Douro Superior and Beira Alta regions, it was among family that its passion grew for the aromas and smells of this land that shapes our character.
After coming into contact with many cultures of living and making wine, in various parts of the globe, Rui Madeira returned to the great Douro valley convinced that they have the potential to make the best wines in the world.
Out of respect for nature, due to the way we cultivate their vineyards and wines reflect his experiences, which smell and taste of land, of schist, damp granite, rock rose, wild flowers and fruit.
It is in the winery that he makes wines with the character of our ‘terroir’, expressed through native grape varieties, which instil with a style of their own and an international profile.
