O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2022

Clear appearance and intense ruby colour. It presents an aroma of violets and wild bushes. Concentrated in the mouth, with ripe fruit flavours and a good tannic structure that will allow it a good evolution in the bottle.

Artefacto

This wine was produced exclusively from Touriga Nacionalgrape variety. The grapes were handpicked in the second week of September, as usual, in order to maintain the acidity level, as well as the balance and freshness of the wines. The grapes were transported to the winery in 25 kg boxes where a second selection was made on a sorting table. The grapes were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature. The wine aged for 12 months in new, second year French oak barrels.

Luis Duarte Vinhos

Founded in 2007, Luis Duarte Vinhos is a family business run by winemaker Luis Duarte and his wife, Dora Simões. It is headquartered on the Monte do Carrapatelo estate, located in the Reguengos de Monsaraz wine subregion in the Alentejo, south of Portugal. With 10 hectares of vineyards, the property enjoys a continental Mediterranean climate, characterized by very hot and dry summers, but with remarkable daily thermal amplitude, which promotes the retention of acids in the grapes, in addition to the development of aromas. Winters are cold and severe and it is this season of the year that most of the rainfall is concentrated. The soils are predominantly slimey, ensuring good water retention, which is fundamental for vines during the summer months. All viticulture is governed by sustainable practices, with cultural interventions carefully adapted to each grape variety and each plot. All vineyards were planted in 2004.
