O Produtor, tasting note published in November 23rd 2018

It has a deep red colour. Very intense and powerful aroma but fresh, dominated by bergamot oil so characteristic of Touriga Nacional, in balance with notes of woodland fruits, blueberry, blackberry and very well integrated and high quality wood. In the mouth it is extraordinarily elegant, with very fresh volume and very well balanced.

Andreza

The Andreza line includes whites and reds of great quality and immense character from the Douro region.

At the top of the Andreza line is the Grande Reserva red, a true blend of Douro in the traditional style, with grapes originating from the three sub-regions and from old vines with various grape varieties planted in a field blend.

Winemaking: Destemming and crushing, 12 hours of pre-fermentative maceration at 34ºC to maximize the action of endogenous enzymes, use of selected yeasts; alcoholic fermentation for a minimum of 10 days with temperature control. Malolactic fermentation. Aging: Long in barrel and then in bottle until the winemaker deems it ready for release on the market.

A wine of superior quality with great potential for bottle aging.

Winemaker: Francisco Baptista.

Lua Cheia Em Vinhas Velhas

The Full Moon project in Vinhas Velhas is the result of the passionate connection that its 3 founders – João Silva e Sousa, Francisco Baptista and Manuel Dias – have maintained with the Douro for over two decades. After so many years of being surprised by this unique wine-growing region, in 2009 it was time to show how they saw Douro wines. The company’s history begins that year with Murça white wines – an area forgotten by progress, but which produces unique wines full of identity.
