O Produtor, tasting note published in August 21st 2023

Wine with a clear and bright appearance, with a deep red color with violet hues and crimson reflections. In the glass, tears are present, fluid and joyful. The nose, of great aromatic complexity, suggests within it notes of balsam, cedar, and mint, wrapped in sweet touches of licorice. An extremely elegant ensemble, where black cherry, blueberry, and wild blackberry stand out. On the palate, it is a wine of great balance, intensity, and concentration. In a very layered way, it reveals nuances of candied forest fruits, white spices, and dark chocolate.

A structured orchestration of fine and juicy tannins, in harmony with a silky and extremely sophisticated texture. It ends long, deep, and nostalgic. A tribute to Amália Rodrigues and the charismatic strength of Portuguese wine.

Amálias

Amálias 100 is a red wine from the 2020 harvest (Amália’s centenary year), complex, intense, elegant, and with great potential for evolution. With grapes from different regions of the country highlighting the quality of Portugal’s different geographies, this blend highlights the excellence and quality of Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Touriga Franca.

After the harvest, an enriching process like few others began, uniting the destinies of some of the noblest clusters of grapes born in the regions of Douro, Dão, Alentejo, and Lisbon. Aiming for a wine that, like Amália, would represent Portugal, the aim was to preserve the integrity of the richness of diversity, elaborating each batch representative of the authenticity of its region. Under the guidance of expert hands, for 18 months and still in their cradle, each batch was elevated to excellence, with aging in barrels.

After barrel aging, it was finally time to integrate and unite the batches, in a unique wine, forming a superior whole. This was followed by 12 months of bottle aging, and now it’s time to take the stage.

Gastronomy: A robust and indulgent wine that calls for gastronomic experiences at its height: grilled rack of kid, seared duck breast, oven-roasted venison, intense-flavored red meat dishes. It can share the spotlight with cheeses like Roquefort or desserts of black fruits and dark chocolate. A deep journey that traverses all the senses.

Unfiltered wine, subject to sediment.

Herdade do Rocim

Herdade do Rocim is a property located between Vidigueira and Cuba, in Baixo Alentejo, with about 120 hectares, including 70 hectares of vineyards and 10 hectares of olive groves. Acquired in 2000 by Movicortes, S.A., in the following years there was restructuring and qualification work, consummated with the planting of most of the vineyard that today constitutes the Herdade do Rocim. This process of implantation was made according to specific criteria that allow the production of high quality grapes. The winery is a structuring element of the Herdade do Rocim project, which combines wine production with the aesthetic quality of its architecture and works as a promotional element for the requalification of the region. At Herdade do Rocim all efforts go in the direction of doing well, always improving and with a constant concern for the quality of the wine.
