O Produtor, tasting note published in June 15th 2023
Beautiful aromas of blackcurrant and cassis with hints of cigar box, pepper, chocolate, and peppermint. Medium to full-bodied and elegant on the palate with silky tannins.
Made from a blend of three classic Bordeaux varieties – where Cabernet Sauvignon predominates – Almaviva is the result of the fortunate meeting of two cultures.
Chile offers its land, climate and vineyards, while France contributes its winemaking expertise and traditions.
The result is a wine of exceptional elegance and complexity. Its launch was a huge boost for the development of Chilean wines on international markets.

Viña Almaviva
In 1997 Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A., and Mr Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle, President of Vinícola Concha y Toro S.A., reached an agreement with the vision of creating an exceptional French-Chilean premium wine called Almaviva.
Produced under the joint technical supervision of both partners, the first vintage was an immediate international success upon its market launch in 1998.
