Alabastro
Alabastro is a wine inspired by a semiprecious marble found in the Alentejo. The aim was to produce a wine that is, like this stone, mineral and fresh. Just as the stone is resilient, Alabastro is a robust wine, with the harvest and production involving a selection of grape varieties: Aragonês, Trincadeira, and Alicante Bouschet, planted in different terroirs of the Alentejo.
The Aragonês and Trincadeira come from Arronches (Portalegre) and Orada (Borba), while the Alicante Bouschet originates from vineyards in Redondo and Arraiolos, where clay-schist soils predominate.
The vinification of Alabastro takes place in the new and modern winery of Quinta do Carmo in Estremoz. Traditional winemaking is used, with short macerations where the grape varieties are vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the fruity aromas. After fermentation, the wine is blended, resulting in a modern, youthful, and fresh wine.
