O Produtor, tasting note published in August 4th 2022

A ruby-coloured wine with plenty of concentration. The nose is deep and complex, suggesting aromas of spices, field flowers, macerated wild fruit and fresh notes of dehydrated orange. The palate follows the profile of the nose, it's dense, "full", with hints of chocolate and graphite well matched in a set that finishes long, with solid, polished tannins.

Adega Mayor

The Reserva do Comendador range pays tribute to the life and work of Comendador Rui Nabeiro. Complex and elegant, this special wine is aromatically enveloping, suggesting notes of spice, chocolate, wildflowers, and macerated wild fruit. A wine that marks important moments and promises to remain forever in memory.

Winemaking: After manual harvesting and careful cluster selection, the grapes ferment at a controlled temperature in 5000 L French oak vats. Malolactic fermentation took place in 1st and 2nd-year French oak barrels, where the wine aged for an additional 18 months. After selecting the best barrels, it was bottled and rested in the bottle until its release.

A wine with an Alentejo style, solid and refined, that pairs well with typical and elaborate dishes. A selection of strong cheeses, roasted lamb or kid, or even a Portuguese cozido would certainly be good suggestions for this red wine.
