A Touriga Vai Nua
Grape Variety queen of Portuguese grapes, Touriga Nacionalis known for its floral identity. A fragile identity that fades with time, aging, and contact with the barrel. This trial presents pure Touriga, in a rare version, aged only 3 months in tank, for natural clarification. The grapes come from schist soils and fermentation occurred spontaneously. Is Touriga going naked (Touriga Vai Nua in Portuguese)? Yes! But we’ve never seen it so well-dressed!
All the grapes from Fita Preta wines come from vineyards of the highest quality, in an integrated production system, in the Alentejo region, in the south of Portugal. The vineyards are grown in very poor soils of schist or granitic origin, naturally producing very concentrated grapes. The aromatic profile is further enhanced by cultural practices such as leaf removal, shoot thinning, and green cluster thinning.
