O Produtor, tasting note published in May 9th 1995

Deep brick color with an amber halo. Rich and elegant nose, combining aromas of ripe wild fruits with delicate dried fruits and subtle and complex notes of chocolate, buttery caramel, and fine oak wood. Soft and silky on the palate, full of ripe flavors reminiscent of jam and figs that persist in a long finish.

Taylor's

Taylor’s 10 Year Old Tawny Port is an excellent example of an aged Tawny Port made from selected red Port wines, originating from the finest vineyards in Cima Corgo and the Upper Douro.

The wines are aged in wooden casks of approximately 630 liters capacity, for an average of 10 years. During this time, these wines lose their initial dark, black-purple color and gain the delicate tawny hue, from which the wine takes its name.

Velvety and elegant, combining delicate wood notes with rich aromas of ripe fruit, Taylor´s aged Tawnies are bottled for immediate consumption.

It is the leading 10 Year Old Tawny in the UK market. According to Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, “It is my opinion that Taylor’s tawny Ports are the best of their type. When tasted against other Tawnies, they always display more aromatic personality, better fruit and maturity, and a wonderful sweetness and persistence. The 10 Year Old Tawny is my favorite, as well as the best bargain among these Ports.”

A delightful dessert wine that pairs particularly well with flavors of almonds, wild berries, or dark chocolate. It can also accompany intense cheeses, such as blue cheese. It is excellent at the end of meals, as the highlight of a pleasant evening, served alone, with walnuts or toasted almonds.
