O Produtor, tasting note published in March 6th 2022
Brown, coppery core with a fine golden rim. The primary aromas are elegant, rich and very delicate. Notes of rum and sultanas, clove, nutmeg and hints of ground black pepper. Plums, quinces and apricots dance on your palate while zest from lemon and orange peel provide a fresh acidity that balances the richness of the wine.
Notes of braised pineapple, passion fruit and lychee balance beautifully with toasted coconut, almonds and butterscotch. The texture and body of the wine envelops the palate and the finish is fresh and very balanced. The finish seems eternal tempting you for more.
Blended from rare Port wines aged in old oak casks for five decades, Taylor’s Golden Age is a special collector’s edition released in limited quantities.
This 50 Year Old Tawny comes from the easternmost sub-regions of the Douro Valley, where some of the finest Quintas, traditional sources of the longest-lived wines, are located. Before being blended, the wines are aged in Taylor’s cellars in old oak casks specially selected by the house’s master cellarers.
After half a century in cask, this exceptional wine has reached its ‘Golden Age’ of maturity, when it achieves the perfect balance, a magical complexity and a very seductive smoothness and density.
