O Produtor, tasting note published in October 19th 2021

Color: Intense ruby color. Good concentration.

Nose: Impresses with its intensity and complexity, with well-defined notes of red fruits, spices, and chocolate. Very expressive and discreet.

Palate: Good volume in the mouth, good acidity, and firm tannins, providing freshness and balance to the ensemble. The finish is long and very pleasant. A seductive wine that ends in perfect balance with excellent persistence. Excellent to drink young, although it has great aging potential in the cellar.

Quinta da Vacaria

Vinification: Quinta da Vacaria LBV Port comes from low-yield vineyards over 30 years old. The grapes were transported in 20kg food-grade plastic boxes and subjected to rigorous sorting at the winery entrance. After gentle crushing without destemming, they were sent to a traditional lagar where they were trodden by men at regular intervals. This was followed by a short fermentation period, during which traditional treading extracted color, tannin, and flavor from the wine masses. After strict density control (Baumé degree), grape brandy was added, stopping fermentation as it left the lagar.

Maturation: It aged for 4 to 6 years in large oak vats and was bottled without any fining or filtration, being subject to creating a slight deposit during aging.

Bottling: October 2021
