O Produtor, tasting note published in November 18th 2023

This wine presents an intense aroma of nuts, chocolate, spices, toffee, and caramel. On the palate, there is a very fresh complexity, toffee, caramel, dried fruits, with the persistence that only a very old wine can achieve.

Quinta da Pacheca

This wine is the result of the careful work of several generations who, with mastery, have been blending Port wines over many years. It is a wine of unparalleled quality, full of history that thrills us with every sip.” – Maria Serpa Pimentel.

The Porto Tawny 50 Years is an exceptional wine resulting from a blend of Port wines that have aged in 550-Liter casks over many years in the cool cellar of Quinta da Pacheca. During aging, the wine transforms its red color into various amber, brownish hues, with greenish tinges when the wine is very old. The sugar concentration increases, and acidity rises due to esterification phenomena, leading to an acidity we call “vinagrinho” (slightly acidic).

Winemaking: Maria Serpa Pimentel and João Silva e Sousa.

It should be served slightly chilled, at the end of a meal, pairing with desserts.
