O Produtor, tasting note published in April 6th 2017
Wine with a good evolution of reduction aromas, with elegance and vinosity. Ripe fruit stands out, with notes of wild berries with a focus on blackberry; on the palate, it confirms all its quality with a prolonged finish.
Born from vines planted in schist soil on the property owned by Caves Messias in the Douro Region, Quinta do Cachão, the Porto wine Messias Quinta do Cachão Vintage 1984 is bottled in Vila Nova de Gaia, in an area of approximately 10,000 square meters.
Winemaking Process: Wine fermented with partial destemming at a controlled temperature (24-28°C); when the must reaches the desired sweetness value, fermentation is interrupted by the addition of brandy (77%), subsequently aging in oak barrels in the warehouses in Vila Nova de Gaia until bottled, between the 2nd and 3rd year, after approval.
