O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2018
A very deep black violet color in the aroma. On the nose, intense aromas of fresh blackberries, along with notes of resin and notes of cistus and green tea. Powerful and compact on the palate, combined with a great tannic structure with excellent natural acidity and layers of berries and floral aromas. Full of intensity ends in a very long and persistent finish.
Vinified in traditional granite press. Complete but delicate extraction achieved by foot treading, which has given rise to a high quality vintage port. Aged in oak barrels for the first 6 months at Quinta da Gricha.

Churchill’s Estates
Churchill’s was founded in 1981 by John Graham, making it the first Port Wine Company to be established in 50 years. The Founder wanted to continue his family’s long Port tradition but at the same time create his own individual style of Port. He named the Company after his wife, Caroline Churchill. Buying Quinta da Gricha in 1999 was an important and fundamental step for bringing Churchill’s into the production of Douro wines, and making them a special case of success.
