O Produtor, tasting note published in November 12th 2021

Color: Vibrant, shallow, with reddish hues.
Nose: Very rich and elegant, fruity character predominates, with aromas of fresh fruit such as cherry, blackberry, and some blackcurrant, well supported by hints of spices like coffee and vanilla, giving it complexity and finesse.
Palate: It is fresh, showing aromatic notes of red fruits, balanced acidity, soft and velvety tannins, making it very elegant, with a long and persistent finish. Very balanced, promising longevity.

Lavradores de Feitoria

Meruge: A wild plant and a wine concept that interprets the vineyard to better express it in the glass. An elegant and eloquent red, quite different from the typical Douro, born from two plots planted at altitude and facing North, privileging acidity. One in Celeirós and another in São João da Pesqueira, in the Cima Corgo sub-region. A tribute to Tinta Roriz, young and fresh, softened by a duet of Tourigas – Nacional and Franca.

Vinified in lagar with minimal extraction, it stands out for its difference: it has a finesse and elegance that are quite unique, combined with enormous complexity and aging potential.

Harvest: Manual in small crates.
Winemaking: Fermentation begins in lagar and finishes in new French oak barrels.
Aging: New French oak barrels, for 12 months.

Pairing: Cod, octopus, white and game meats, duck, semi-cured and cured cheeses, sausages, and some pastas. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Lavradores de Feitoria

Lavradores de Feitoria, Vinhos de Quinta S.A. is a unique project, created in September 2000 as a result of the union of 15 farmers, owners of 18 estates distributed across the best terroirs of the Douro, spread across the three sub-regions (Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo, and Douro Superior). Currently, the company’s structure includes 48 shareholders, of which 15 are grape producers, and 19 estates. Together, they comprise a total vineyard area of over 600 hectares.

These producers – with distinct stakes in the company’s capital, under a single brand, a single winery, and a single winemaking team – came together to share resources and create synergies to achieve what they could not alone. For the first time in the Douro, a group of determined locals combined knowledge and experience, innovation, and tradition. A collective and supportive effort that marked a new era for the Douro.

Sharing and association, coordinated in a modern, reasonable, and intelligent manner, are the underlying values of Lavradores de Feitoria. The goal from the outset was to create balanced, elegant wines with aging potential, based on a declared commitment to the excellence and tradition of the Douro.

With 19 estates spread throughout the Douro, Lavradores de Feitoria manages to obtain the best raw material, with grapes of all varieties (even the lesser-known ones), vines of all ages, planted at various altitudes, with different exposures, in a huge diversity of soils.
