Ricardo Diogo’s mother, Manuela Vasconcelos, began working with her grandfather, Mário Barbeito, in the 1970s. In 1989, he joined her and they began a new phase for Barbeito wines. Malvasia being his favourite grape variety, he decided to give his name to this blend. It is a blend of 40-year-old malvasia and much older malvasia, some from his collection and some from his grandfather. In July 2013, 1050 units were bottled, all individually numbered.
