O Produtor, tasting note published in December 5th 2020
Old gold colour. Intense, ripe tropical fruit, honey and almonds. Freshness balanced by natural sweetness, confirming the aromas. Pleasant, with complexity and persistence.
The Fernão-Pires grapes are left to overripen in a 34-year-old plot in Charneca.
After careful selection in the vineyard, they are hand-harvested and undergo another round of sorting in the cellar. This is followed by gentle pressing, clarification, and the initiation of a slow fermentation at a controlled temperature of 12ºC, interrupted when a balance between alcohol, residual sugar, and total acidity is achieved.
It pairs wonderfully with foie gras, desserts featuring lime or passion fruit, and dried fruits.
