O Produtor, tasting note published in August 5th 2022
It reveals aromas of dried leaves and hazelnuts in a very interesting profile. In the mouth it finds fresh notes of candied orange with a nice citric acidity at the end. Delicate and perfumed wine.
Aged for 18 months in second use barriques with battonage.

Casa de Santar was founded at the end of the 18th century, more precisely in 1790, and today it is one of the most emblematic brands of Dão, the fruit of its history and size and the prestige and elegance of the wines produced here.
As the most iconic wine estate in Dão, the wines of this noble house are recognized for their tradition, authenticity and nobility, reasons that make this Dão brand so special and known for its 200 years of history. The property has been linked to the same family for 13 generations and the winery deserves a proper tour: from the cellar to the fermentation room with stainless steel vats, through the wine aging room, where red and some white wines rest in French barrels. where we can find the highlight of this room, the incredibly old copper still.
