The Gin Sharish gave rise to new surprising discoveries by António Cuco, as exemplified by the Blue Magic edition. Among its botanicals we can find strawberry, fresh raspberries, cinnamon cardamom, lemon, angelica root, ginger, liquorice, coriander seed and, of course, juniper, and, of course, juniper. The star of this gin is a flower called Clitoria Ternatea, which which gives the gin a blue hue. This gin has a 'magic touch', because when
added to tonic water it will be transformed into a light pink.
Part of a base distillation of fresh strawberry and raspberry. One group of botanicals are distilled together and the others separately and then blended together. The intense blue colour is due to the infusion after blending of Clitoria Ternatea flower, a tropical pea variety whose flower is a powerful colourant and very rich in antioxidants. This flower gives Sharish Blue Magic gin its magical character because when served in a gin and tonic the blue colour changes to a pinkish purple due to the citric acid that reacts naturally to the flower.

Sharish
During a period of unemployment and thanks to an incredible capacity for entrepreneurship, António Cuco went from simply enjoying gin to a true “alchemist of flavours”, being able to create an emblematic and internationally recognised brand.
As inspiration, António Cuco retrieved the smells and flavours of his childhood, such as the Bravo de Esmolfe apple, which his great-grandmother used to give him to eat at the Borba market, and the lúcia-lima, an aroma that reminded him of the tea his grandmother used to prepare at snack time in S. Manços. To these memories she added botanicals, citrus fruits and other ingredients, all from her homeland, to arrive at the final formula of her Gin Sharish
