O Produtor, tasting note published in April 21st 2023

The initial notes of Portofino Dry Gin are of fresh lemon and crisp juniper that transport us to the hills of Portofino. They give way to a universe of Mediterranean flavors: aromas of wild rosemary and lavender from the coastal maquis with sweet and delicate notes of marjoram and sage that evoke the taste of traditional Ligurian cuisine.

Portofino Dry Gin, Pudel srl

Portofino Dry Gin, owned by Pudel, srl, is a brand of artisanal spirits that spreads the beauty and hidden charm of Portofino around the world, one sip at a time.

The company was founded in homage to Klaus Pudel, the grandfather of Portofino Dry Gin’s co-founder, Ruggero. Klaus was a much-admired man for saving Portofino from destruction during World War II, becoming an icon of the small village on the Italian Riviera.

In the 1950s and 1960s, during the era of “La Dolce Vita,” Klaus played host to some of the most wonderful parties on the Italian Riviera. His love for Portofino has been conveyed through the generations, and in tribute to Klaus and his playful spirit, the Portofino Dry Gin is born with an unmistakable Mediterranean character.
