O Produtor, tasting note published in July 12th 2023

A classic gin style with a rich complexity and a unique balance of citrus and spice notes. As soon as you bring it to your nose, it will immediately inspire fruity and floral notes, followed closely by the dry, powdery spice of cinnamon and underneath, cassia, a highly seductive combination. With a bit of water, sweet orange peel and juniper immediately begin to emerge on the nose. The palate is fruity-floral with a finish of bitter grapefruit and a chocolatey flavor. These sweet notes soften and open up when combined with tonic to produce an almost floral nose and a taste of sugared plum.

Edgerton

The origins of pink: The association of pink with gin dates back to 1800 when, in 1824, Dr. Johann Siegert invented Angostura Bitters, a dark red extract of gentian and spices widely used by sailors to cure seasickness. Adding bitters to gin became a habit of ship captains and the stylish bars of London.

Launched in 2009, Edgerton is the first and original pink gin, whose striking color provides a unique visual point of difference and adds a fabulous touch to various gin-based cocktails.

Try it in different Martinis or neat with tonic water to give a delightfully pink twist to classic recipes.

Edgerton Pink Gin

Martin Edgerton Gill, former owner of the London Gin Company, discovered that while an excellent taste in the glass is fundamental for the long-term success of a beverage brand, color is also crucial. His creation, the world’s first blue gin, “London No 1 Blue,” sold in 2010 to Gonzalez Byass of Spain, has been a huge success. Instead of retiring with the sale of London Gin, he decides to explore the possibilities of a pink gin.

Launched in 2009, Edgerton is the original and first pink gin.

Michael Edgerton Gill began his career in advertising on major accounts such as Proctor and Gamble, Cadburys, Typhoo Tea. He personally wrote the slogan “Typhoo puts the T in Britain,” which was outstandingly successful. He subsequently became Marketing Director at Brooke Bond Teas, the world’s biggest tea company. At the age of 32, he began his career as an entrepreneur and has subsequently successfully built and sold 5 companies – all in the premium sector.

His latest creation, Edgerton Pink Gin, is number one in Fortnum and Mason and sells in 20 countries across the world.
