Color: A brown, amber, and intense color with many golden reflections.
Nose: A pleasant and surprising bouquet, blending subtle aromas of dried fruits with woody notes, combined with a hint of vanilla.
Palate: An exceptional character, coupled with a good length on the palate. Wonderful balance between subtlety and strength, with all the complexity of fruits and woody notes.

Jules Gautret

Jules Gautret 3rd Millennium XO Cognac, or 3rd Millennium, is the result of a blend in which well-balanced tannins – developed over years of aging in oak barrels, according to Charentais traditions – are expressed and combined with the delicacy of the “eaux-de-vie” from the terroir. It reflects the perfect mastery of the art of blending by the Cellar Master of the Jules Gautret house. Thanks to the precious selection of “eaux-de-vie,” this Cognac can express its full aromatic complexity.

Its status as a luxury XO Cognac is underscored by the very elegant, attractive, and distinctive Kheops bottle decoration, consisting of an off-centered label featuring the Cellar Master’s portrait and the brand name, and a silkscreened poem explaining the name of this Cognac. The golden and shiny capsule contributes to the overall harmony of the bottle. The structure of the bottle’s decoration is based on the contrast between the brand’s ancient values, symbolized by the label, and its modern values, embodied in the shapes and realization of the decoration. This concept highlights the traditional know-how of the Jules Gautret brand, ancient and immutable.

The 3rd Millennium is presented in a black cardboard box, showcasing the elegance of the decanter and the brilliance of the Cognac color.

Best enjoyed at the end of a meal, this harmonious and distinguished Cognac is perfect for prolonging the magic of unforgettable moments with its delicacy and complexity.

Jules Gautret 3rd Millennium XO Cognac was awarded the Grand Gold Quality Award 2013 by Monde Selection, the highest recognition from this independent quality control institute.

Jules Gautret

The story begins in the 19th century when two brothers, Jacques and Étienne Gautret, acquire Château de Jonzac in 1818. After a period of relative inactivity, in 1847, the Château becomes the spirits trading company “Gautret & Fils,” later “Jules Gautret.”

At a time when business schools were barely beginning to emerge, Jules studied in a trading company while taking drawing and painting classes at the Bordeaux School of Fine Arts, where his taste for creation was born. A product of this ‘new’ generation – eager for success and discovery – Jules Gautret created products that reflected his personality: audacious, dynamic, and creative. His passion for cognacs was the source of his ambition.

In just a few decades, the name Jules Gautret became a signature of excellence. The company was awarded a gold medal as early as 1895 at the Exposition Universelle in Bordeaux, then an honorable mention at the 1897 Brussels Exposition, as well as the silver medal at the 1900 Paris Exposition. In the years that followed, Jules Gautret also received various grand prizes, notably in Hanoi in 1902, Saint-Louis in 1904, Milan in 1906, Seattle in 1909, Brussels in 1910, Turin in 1911, Ghent in 1913, and Madrid in 1927. Quality was unquestionably the Jules Gautret trademark.

Unfortunately, in 1935, the Jules Gautret cellars were consumed by a major fire. The only thing that survived the flames was a small 6-hectoliter Charentais alembic. In 1959, the union of Cognac cooperatives took over the company.

Today, the Jules Gautret team maintains the pioneering spirit and the desire to create exceptional beverages, writing a new chapter in the history of this excellent cognac house.
