O Produtor, tasting note published in September 22nd 2021

Its brilliant golden color is accompanied by a waltz of very fine bubbles and a complex and elegant bouquet composed of citrus fruits, quince, mirabelle plum and hazelnuts; a true testimony to the minerality so faithful to our terroir. On the palate, the 2009 is pure charm, showing a perfect balance translated into freshness and meat, roundness and a long and persistent finish.

La Piu Belle

Born under the lucky star of an abundant nature and an early harvest of selected plots, the 2009 vintage reflects the uniqueness and energy of La Piu Belle Champagne: a remarkable Cuvée, of extreme finesse, carried by a freshness led by Chardonnay , combined with the delicious maturity of aging for twelve years in our chalk cellars.

2009, A PARTICULARLY HOT YEAR
Winter allowed the vine to rest pleasantly and the seasons continued with a very sunny and dry spring in Champagne, which set the trend throughout the summer until the harvest. We harvest smaller grapes than usual, but with a much higher concentration of aromas. Chardonnays harvested earlier retain a pleasant freshness and precise minerality. While the Pinot Noirs, ripe and very concentrated, bring complexity and richness to the mix. In summary, the combined effect of a generous nature and the somewhat early harvest of certain parcels contributed to create this exceptional Cuvée.

Vik Wines

VIK was created in Millahue, in the Cachapoal Valley. This is a vineyard that embodies the perfect fusion of man, experience, land, climate and high technology.

THE PERFECT TERROIR
The VIK vineyard was born at the foot of the Andes Mountains, within the Millahue Valley, called “Lugar de Oro” or “Golden Place” by the native Mapuche people: 4,300 hectares of astonishing Chilean nature where more than 327 hectares of vines have been planted.

VIK’s terroir offers a majestic and natural landscape made up of 12 valleys, each with its own microclimate, distinct exposures, all within a wind tunnel cooled by coastal breezes from the Pacific and winds from high in the Andes that give VIK enormous complexity and exceptional variety.

OENOLOGIST
Head winemaker Cristian Vallejo oversees VIK’s viticulture and winemaking, ensuring that grapes are hand-picked and fermentation occurs naturally, without the addition of yeasts.

The wines are aged in a combination of new and used French oak barrels.
