O Produtor, tasting note published in February 22nd 2022
Colour: golden yellow in the glass, with fine, regular bubbles forming an elegant chain in the middle of the wine.
Nose: The nose opens with intense aromas of mirabelle plum, orchard fruit (apple and pear), stewed red fruit (strawberry and raspberry) and lemon. These are enriched by notes of almond, spice, praline and pear charlotte.
Palate: lovely freshness and aromas of summer fruits (mirabelle plum, peach and melon). These blend gracefully with notes of praline, red fruit (cherry, strawberry and raspberry), butterscotch and spices (vanilla and cinnamon). The finish is long and powerful, with sweet citrus and clove notes on the finish. This champagne is deliberately very dry, which ensures a very harmonious balance in the glass.
At just 2.2 hectares, Clos du Moulin is one of Champagne’s two historic fortified vineyards, located on the sunny slopes of the Montagne de Reims near Chigny-les-Roses. Cattier’s team of experts has taken three vintages, selected for their ability to age gracefully, and blended them into a wine that reflects their unique origins. Clos du Moulin Rosé is a single-vineyard champagne, an expression of elegance and fruit. Each bottle bears a unique number.
