KOYA
Where sophistication meets tradition; our brandy is a tale told in taste.”
KOYA brandy is produced on the Shandong peninsula, on the outskirts of the beautiful city of Yantai, a classic wine-growing region in China with a long history.
Served at numerous state banquets, it became a popular gift in diplomatic circles in the 1950s. Currently, it is the market leader in brandy sales in China. A true expression of Chinese distilling art and a must-try brandy for brandy lovers worldwide.
Koya is the market leader in China, accounting for 96% of brandy sales in the country.
Gravel and sandy loam soils create an ideal terroir for growing Ugni Blanc. Deep-rooted vines benefit from minerals and nutrients in the subsoil, and the coastal climate allows for the production of high-quality grapes.
After selection, Ugni Blanc grapes undergo a temperature-controlled double yeast fermentation process, an exclusive method granted a Chinese National Patent.
Distillation is carried out in both traditional Charentaise-style pot stills and column stills, separating the “head” and “tail” fractions from the purest “heart” of the distilled brandy.
Minimum aging of 6 years in oak barrels of various sizes from Limousin, France.
