O Produtor, tasting note published in June 12th 2017
Intense garnet colour with violet hues. Aroma Plenty of aromatic complexity, wild berries, rock-rose, various spices, a touch of smoke, very captivating
Flavour Deep and distinctive, full-bodied, with round and silky tannins. Excellent acid balance that gives it freshness and confirms all the character of Baixo Corgo.
For Quinta da Rede Grande Reserva Red Wine, the grapes suffered total destemming, prolonged but gentle pelicular maceration and alcoholic fermentation in robotic mills at a temperature of 26ºC.
Maturation 12 months in new French oak barrels.

Quinta da Rede
The oldest historical records of Quinta da Rede date from 1484. It is part of the Douro wine region even before the 1756 demarcation. The Quinta overlooks the Douro River on its right bank, between Mesão Frio and Régua, an altitude of between 90 and 140 metres. It is renowned for being the place where fishing nets (meaning Rede) once stretched from one side of the Douro River to the other. Quinta da Rede belongs to the magnificent Douro wine-growing landscape that has been recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage.
Quinta da Rede has a privileged location in the Douro, next to the river and where white and red Reserva and Grande Reserva wines are produced.
José Alves, the owner, acquired the quinta in 1995, in order to set his project in motion, which aims to change in some way the way in which the vineyards and wines of the Douro are worked, produced and promoted.
More ideas to cement and extend the brand to external markets and clients will be presented here soon.
We want our clients and friends to be aware of everything that is happening at Quinta da Rede and with its wines.
