Great wines don’t have to cost a fortune. Even in world-class wine-growing regions like Champagne, Chianti Classico, or the Sonoma Coast, there are excellent examples at affordable prices.
To help find high-quality wines at reasonable prices, the Wine Spectator editorial team selects wines that express the distinctive character of a specific region or category while keeping prices low through innovative methods in the vineyard and cellar.
All wines on the list received 90 points or more on Wine Spectator’s 100-point scale, cost less than €37, and were produced in large enough quantities to be widely available.
With 91 points out of 100, the Top 10 values of 2023 list is led by the choice for Wine of the Best Quality-Price Ratio of the Year: La Crema Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2021, produced by Craig McAllister, La Crema’s chief winemaker since 2017.
