A true celebrity has always a different hobby, right?

Actually, some famous people follow, in some way, their passion about the world of wine . From Hollywood stars, to musicians and famous athletes, lots of them end up producing wine or involving on the wine industry.

Sir Cliff Richard

Despite his popularity on the 50s and 60s, the British singer has been a frequent visitor of Algarve for over 40 years. He actually ended up buying a property, Quinta do Moinho, in Albufeira, where he started to produce Vida Nova wines.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Given their passion for France and wine, the famous american couple acquired, in 2008, the Chateaux Miraval, in Provence. There, they produce the respected Miraval Rosé, that has its production sold out in a few hours and is made by the famous oenologist Marc Perrin.

Pedro Abrunhosa

The well-known Portuguese musician has produced, in partnership with Dirk Niepoort, two wines. The White Luz and the Red Sombra are two Portuguese wines, both made in the Douro Valley.

Francis Ford Coppola

The director and producer of The Godfather has always been a wine lover. He has invested in the Napa Valley for over 30 years. Under Francis Ford Coppola Winery, he dedicates to the production of high quality wines.

Xutos & Pontapés

Under a partnership with Casa Agrícola Alexandre Relvas, the Portuguese rock band has produced a limited edition wine to celebrate its 30 years. Made from Alicante Bouschet, Tempranillo and Touriga Nacional, it is a tribute to Portuguese rock’n’roll and wine.

Drew Barrymore

Also very passionate about wine, the american actress has a wine production in partnership with Carmel Road Winery. Barrymore Wines has only a white wine, the Barrymore Pinot Grigio Monterey.

Jay-Z

In 2014, the american rapper bought the Champagne brand Armand de Brignac – also known by the Ace of Spades. Actually, it is said that he made the decision after he felt disrespected by a Cristal’s director, and he made an unrefusable offer to Sovereign Brands.

Antonio Banderas

He has been passionate about the wine history and culture, he officially got involved in the wine industry in 2009. That year, he became a shareholder on 10+ year old wine company, producing wines in Ribera del Duero, in Spain.
