Grape varieties
“Borrado das Moscas” and Bical are the same grape variety. Typical of the Beiras region, especially in the areas of Bairrada and Dão (where it is known as “Borrado das Moscas” due to the small brown spots that appear on ripe berries).
Its cluster is medium-sized and loose, with relatively small, heterogeneous berries, and a yellow-green epidermis with medium bloom. Its pulp, not colored, is firm, juicy, and with a characteristic flavor, while its maturation is early and its production regular. When the grapes are harvested at the right time, wines with a citrine color, complex aromas with good fruit, fine, relatively dry, and elegant, with good alcohol content and low acidity are obtained.
