Touriga Nacional: one of the more noble Portuguese grape varieties.

This variety has, in fact, a relevant presence it basically all the Portuguese wine regions. Nonetheless, it is fair to highlight the Douro Valley and, obviously, the Dão Region – considered its birthplace and where, when well worked, is queen.

At the Douro Valley, besides contributing for the production of great Port Wines, it started to shine in non fortified wines, in blends and monovarietals.

Besides Dão and Douro, this grape is also present in Alentejo, Bairrada, Lisboa, Algarve and even in the Vinho Verde Region.

For over 15 years that Touriga Nacional has interested international winemakers and has been planted all around the globe, creating the possibility of showing consumers and wine critics its potential.

Touriga Nacional produces balanced, well structured, distinct wines. With all its elegance, body and deep color, it presents aromas of red fruits and floral notes of orange flour and rosemary.

When aged in wood, it gets a higher complexity. with exceptional aromatic qualities, it is without doubts the greatest sample of Portuguese grape varieties.

Cheers!!
