“The announcement of the winners of the new “TOP 10 Portuguese Wines” took place on Friday night at the Feitoria Inglesa in Porto, as part of the Essência do Vinho – Porto event, celebrating its 20th anniversary. It resulted from a blind tasting, without prior knowledge of the wines, conducted the morning of the previous day at the Arab Salon of the Stock Exchange Palace. In total, 46 judges (from countries such as Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Mexico, and South Africa) evaluated a total of 50 samples (white, rosé, red, and fortified wines) resulting from a pre-selection by the Revista de Vinhos, based on the highest scores and the most exciting samples evaluated in 2023 by the tasting panel of that specialized publication.” – This can be read in an article from Revista de Vinhos (a specialized wine magazine), dated February 23, 2024.
