In a ceremony held on January 12, 2024, the winners of the 10th edition of the Crédito Agrícola Wine Competition were revealed. This initiative, organized by the bank in collaboration with the Portuguese Sommeliers Association, saw a total of 246 wines – whites, reds, and sparkling – submitted for consideration. These wines were evaluated by 99 national producers from various wine regions in the country, all of whom are clients and associates of Crédito Agrícola.

 

The jury, composed of oenologists, wine enthusiasts, and specialized journalists, distinguished wines from different wine regions during blind tastings held on October 21, 2023. The awarded regions include Vinhos Verdes (1 medal), Douro (15 medals), Dão (9 medals), Beira Interior (1 medal), Bairrada (3 medals), Tejo (6 medals), Lisbon (7 medals), Setúbal Peninsula (8 medals), Alentejo (19 medals), Algarve (5 medals), and Azores (1 medal).

 

In this edition, a new category of Sustainable Production Wine was introduced, with two sustainable production medals awarded. One went to the Red Wine Grande Rocim Reserva 2021 from Herdade do Rocim, which you can find here, and the other to the Red Wine Herdade São Miguel Reserva 2021, with the year 2019 available here. Two Alentejo wines shining in this initiative by the Crédito Agrícola Group, aimed at supporting the wine sector, cooperatives, local producers, and the development of local economies.
