The Douro Valley is divided into three sub-regions: Lower Corgo (Baixo Corgo), Upper Corgo (Alto Corgo) and the Upper Douro (Douro Superior). In the Upper Corgo we found one of the Douro’s largest area of vineyards. It’s not exactly a hidden treasure but it certainly hides other ones.
Apart from over 400 hectares of vineyards, where grapes are grown to produce highly rated wines, there are also olive trees, producers of award-winning olive oils. The buildings, the breathtaking views, landscapes and scents are a haven to one’s senses.
