As it was referred by the British wine critic Jancis Robinson, “it is impossible to think of any other wine region anywhere in the world that has produced better wine in 2011”.
A legendary harvest
In fact, the wet and rainy winter of 2011 allowed the formation of water reserves that were precious during summer, which was consistently warm, without significant temperature variations. These natural factors were, undoubtedly, essential for the production of legendary wines at this region.
In general , 2011’s wines from the Douro Valley, have benefited from a range of factors that have resulted not only in great levels of production, but also in wines showing great depth of aromas and exceptional aging potential.
Being such a special year, at Vinha we have reserved a few 2011 vintages bottles, which you may find here.
