António Maçanita starts his wine production in Alentejo, his mother’s land, with FitaPreta Vinhos and Sexy Wines, and then goes to the Azores, his father’s land, founding in Pico, the Azores Wine Company, where he dedicates himself to the recovery of native grape varieties at risk of extinction.
It is for the challenge that she leaves for the Douro to start a four-handed project with her sister Joana, also an oenologist, from where Maçanita Vinhos – Brothers and Oenologists – was born.
All of António Maçanita’s projects are born from challenges, from partnerships driven by friendship and the complicity of those who share the same vision and passion for wine.
The dedication to the terroirs, and to sustainable local development, leads to the creation of unique, special wines, produced in small series, which stand out for their quality and originality. And with António Maçanita always with a care, almost alchemist, in the creation of blends.
The taste for challenge and the irreverence that characterises it, together with the will to innovate, generate new projects that quickly become a great adventure of success, both behind and beyond the sea.
